The Ice Fields Parkway

We left Banff bright and early on a morning where the clouds were much lower than the tops of the mountains.  Beautiful!  On the way to Lake Louise to get fuel, we spotted a bear along the road!  That was a treat.  It was cold and rainy, and to our surprise ice crystals formed on the windshields.  Once on the Ice Fields Parkway, the clouds stayed for a while before the weather cleared a bit.  When we stopped for pictures and to let the dogs out at Bow Glacier and Bow Lake, we even had snow flurries!

We stopped again at Parker Ridge to see Bridal Veil Falls and to look 'way, 'way down at the road we had just traveled.  Again there was a brief snow flurry.

The Ice Field Centre turned out to be a big disappointment because we wanted to take the ice Explorer out to the Columbia Glacier, but you must buy a package deal which includes the Glacier Sky Walk.  None of us wanted to do the Sky Walk, so we just got back on the road.

We are staying at the Jasper/Linton KOA and are delighted to have full hook up pull through sites.
