Golf and shopping

This morning David went to play 9 holes of golf at the Top of the World Golf Course with his trusty (ha) caddy, Steve.  To get to the course they had to cross the Yukon River on the tiny free ferry--the same one we will cross on tomorrow in our rigs.  The golf course was to open at 10 but no one was there except the guy mowing grass who gave them the key to the golf cart and told them to get started.  Among the "golf rules and etiquette" were the following:

#10  No penalty if you lose a ball to the ravens.
#12  Moose and maintenance personnel have the right of way.

David said it was a pretty good course, but the caddy needed lots of training.  Steve had taken bear spray, but the only critter they saw was a big rabbit.

Meanwhile, the girls went shopping in Dawson City where Jackie purchased a beautiful necklace and earrings made of trader's beads.

When the guys finished the golf game and were headed back on the ferry, we all decided to meet for lunch at Sourdough Joe's.  We had a good lunch sitting outside on the patio, then went next door for ice cream followed by more shopping.

Sourdough Joe's.
Just a little street band with fiddle, spoons, washboard, and
two ukuleles.
