Niagara--Canadian Side

After running some errands (Verizon, Walmart) this morning, we headed across the Rainbow Bridge to the Canadian side of Niagara.  After finding a parking place near the Welcome Center, we opted for a quick lunch.  Jackie, Steve, and I have all been here before, but David had not and it was fun to watch him become as awestricken as we all were the first time we saw the Falls.  We had  a beautiful, sunny day and both the American and Horseshoe Falls were spectacular!  We were all impressed by the  displays of spring flowers, especially the tulips in a rainbow of colors.  Everywhere we looked, spring was springing here.
Lawn mowing Canadian style.

After walking through Victoria Park, we arrived at the Hornblower River Cruise.  Donning our red rain gear, we boarded the boat for the trip past the American Falls and up into the curve of the Horseshoe Falls.  It was, as always, a spectacular experience.

Leaving the cruise area, we decided to take a ride on the Whirlpool AeroCar, a tram that crosses over the whirlpool area.  After watching it load and cross one time, we all decided that it really wasn't as exciting a ride as we expected it to be, so we opted for buying some fudge and heading home.

After taking care of our dogs, relaxing, and having happy hour, we took our friend (a native of Buffalo) , David Wiltsey's advice and headed into Buffalo to have dinner at the Anchor Bar where Buffalo Wings were first served.  We enjoyed the wings and the local sandwich, beef on deck, enormously; they were all that David said they would be!

Tired and full, we returned to the rigs for a quiet rest of the evening.
