American Side of the Falls

Today the guys went on a Jetboat ride.  Sarah and Jackie declined due to neck and back problems, but the guys had a ball.  The 33 foot jet boat had 3 Cadillac engines putting out 1650 horsepower. It did 360 degree turns in Class 5 and 6 rapids and a whirlpool.  The guys were lucky enough to be seated next to the  captain of the boat and had a pulse pounding  one hour ride.  Due to the temperature of the water, they chose to stay inside, but the thrills were real nevertheless.

While the guys were out, Sarah and Jackie  got haircuts and went to Hobby Lobby.

After lunch, we went to Niagara State Park, the oldest in the USA.  After seeing Victoria Park yesterday, we were all a bit disappointed in the American side.  The grounds are not as well kept, and of course the views of the falls are not as spectacular.   We did see several unusual sights:  a bridal party, a totally barefoot man, and someone in a full black burka.

Returning to the campsite we had happy hour and visited with a retired marine and his family who have been full-timing for 5 months.  Tomorrow we are off to Detroit via Canada.
