We got on the road about 8:30 A.M. which for us was an early start. After a long, but uneventful trip we arrived at Carolina Crossroads Resort in Roanoke Rapids, NC to find our traveling companions, David and Jackie Weis already settled in and having happy hour. We joined them after getting set up, and had a toast to the beginning of our great adventure. David grilled some steaks, and we added some baked and sweet potatoes and we enjoyed a lovely dinner before turning in for the night. Steve and I spent some time stowing some stuff away, then a little TV and off to sleep.
We have our furry kids, Corky and Precious, with us, of course, and David and Jackie are traveling with their 4 dachshunds, so we are well stocked with 4 legged friends. It should be a great trip!
